Huayoccari is a typical Andean colonial hacienda, owned and inhabited by the Orihuela- Lambarri family for over three centuries. Jose Ignacio and Ana Maria Lambarri, current owners, will be the hosts for today’s lunch. After a tour of the centuries-old property, and a detailed explanation of the family’s impressive pre-Columbian art collection, guests will be treated to a typical Andean lunch, prepared with the hacienda’s fresh produce. This venue can be outstandingly complemented by a demonstration of ancient Andean weaving techniques by
Nilda Callañaupa, native of Chinchero and founder of the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cuzco, an NGO focused on preserving centuries-old Andean weaving and dying techniques. Another supplement to lunch can be an exhibition of ancient Andean and Amazonian music by
Kike Pinto, an expert that has been researching these subjects for the past 30 years and has a remarkable collection of ancestral music instruments.
