This outing takes guests to the
Palomino islands, a set of islets off Callao, Lima’s port. The first sight will be San Lorenzo Island, a sacred place for the pre-Columbian settlers of the Lima valley and a bone yard for pirates and seamen during colonial times. Next comes El Fronton, an island that holds the remains of a famous penitentiary during the republican era. The highlight of the trip is the
Palomino Islands, a set of islets that house a very large colony of sea lions. The more adventurous will be able to put on wetsuits and jump in the water, where they will swim among a large group of friendly sea-lion females and cubs. As the group returns towards Callao, guests will be treated to a gourmet snack, including some “pisco” to warm-up.
